· Inside the artificial skislope at the Mall of the Emirates, there is a snowmaking machine, an ambient temperature of 2°C and happy penguins. It's highly unlikely that we'll see or hear of it again for a few years, but in 2009, it did actually snow in Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE's most northerly Emirate.
